The latin name meaning, literally: 'giant-winged bird-whale'.
 This was inspired by a dream I had about a really cool giant flying whale-like dragon thing. I was possessed with the urge to draw it. The picture turned out more like a whale than dragon, but that's okay. Whales are awesome. Don't ask me what it's supposed to eat up there. Maybe it filters gnats through its baleen plates, or somming. The reference pic for the background clouds came from the GIMP-savvy website [link] |

Amazing... not quite how I'd pictured the things, but only all the more amazing for that fact.
Yes, I've pictured those things. Winged whale's rock. Especially this. But why isn't this on Elfwood? WHY?! *throttles ye*

I love the flying whale concept. Gojira, a french metal band, made an album dealing with flying whales. If you like metal music, you should listen to it, it's a great album.
